A day at Yunku...

So yesterday, Jeanette, my parents, Aris, my sister, her BF and a bunch of other people went over to hacienda Yunku to spend the day, as all Haciendas in the Yucatan it was really beautiful. For those of you who dont know what an Hacienda is.... it was basicaly a large labour camp were laboureres worked their asses off for a patrician (so basicaly the same deal as small towns in medieval europe). Anyway these haciendas often preserve the patricians house, and they are just gorgeous... like castles someitmes. Anyway the "Casona" at Yunku is not particularly big, but it is still very nice... and the best part is that you can rent the entire hacienda for 350 usd a night... its really quite a good deal, you can fit tons of people in there. Anyway it has a pool and is really nifty since the watter that feeds it comes from an underground river... so no chemicals or anything , its just great!
Here are some shots from that day, check out the gross close up of the dragon fly... ekkk, makes my skin crawl.

Here is short walkthrough of parts of the hacienda if your courious -> click here <-
